Ownpower Renewables - "Helping communities to benefit from their natural energy sources"

At Ownpower we believe that the benefits from harnessing local energy sources should be shared. Renewable energy from the sun and the wind plays an important role in reducing CO2 emissions and meeting society’s energy needs. Our mission is to increase the use of these naturally occurring resources, and to harness them in a way that brings benefits to local people.

The Bankdale Project - "Reducing CO2 and sharing the benefits"

At Bankdale in Cumbria Ownpower’s wind turbine is enabling local homeowners to save money and reduce their own CO2 emissions with the support of the Ownpower Energy Conservation Fund.

Local Energy Conservation Fund

Grants from the Ownpower Energy Conservation Fund are being used to implement energy efficiency improvements on homes and buildings in the immediate vicinity of the Bankdale wind turbine. As well as saving energy these improvements increase property values whilst creating jobs for local businesses.
