The Sedum Roof
Raymond Whittaker
A grant was made to The Friends of St Mary's Church to fund the installation of a sedum roof for this outbuilding which is located adjacent to the church. The installation was done with local volunteer labour.
Sedum roofs are being increasingly used to reduce run-off from buildings, aid cooling and provide a living habitat for invertebrates. They also fit in well in rural settings.
Installation cost: The building was constructed with volunteer labour. A grant of £660 was made towards the cost of the sedum roof.
